Training on Importance disease in piggery production and its prevention & control measures.

 

ICAR, KVK Anjaw impart Training on “Importance disease in piggery production and its prevention & control measures” held at Chameliang, in collaboration with Manyu welfare society, Anjaw on 3rd Dec 2016. Chameliang is small village located at latitude 28.08194559, longitude 96.53731249 and altitude 641m above sea level. Altogether 40 numbers of participant including farmers, farmwomen and rural youths have attended the said program.

Dr. Tilling Tayo, SMS-Animal Science, KVK Anjaw, briefly presented on Importance disease in piggery production and its prevention & control measures through power point presentation. He discussed regarding prevention and control measure of all the common disease outbreak in swine population such as, Iron deficiency disease, parasitic infestation, mineral and vitamin deficiency, swine fever and FMD. Further, he asked the farmers to go for early treatment instead of waiting for weeks to look for self cure system, doing this many pig succumb to disease and delay in treatment result poor response to drugs. As a result, there is more involvement of money and time in treatment of disease. Therefore, precaution is always cheaper and better than cure. At the end of training, Anthelmentic drugs (Bandykind plus) were distributed to participant to deworm their pigs.

Mr. Luchum Manyu, Vice president of Manyu welfare society, delivering the vote of thanks. He encouraged the participant to take proactive in treatment of piggery disease, as many pig are lost due to lack of veterinary aid and directly or indirectly, it has negative impact on rural economy.
